The hands behind the pages

Hi, I'm Sushma.

I loved to draw for as long as I can remember — I still have some of those early sketches.

Then, trained as an engineer, I fell in love with making things work, looking at the world with awe, and asking endless questions about how and why.

Seeing my kids grow up rekindled my passion to illustrate our world sparking curiosity about the wonderful things around us, in beautiful, engaging ways.

How it started

It began at my own dining table

It started for my own kids during the stay-at-home of 2020s. It was just a fun experiment with doodling everyday things to spark questions worth chasing and answers that sparked even more questions.
What surprised me was what happened next.

Kids started getting more curious and asking a ton of questions.
They burst out with creative sparks — their own doodles, their own little sayings.
And best of all, they started having deep conversations with parents, grandparents, siblings and friends.
What started for my children quietly became something other families wanted too.

Where it's headed

Putani means small and Puta means pages in my mother tongue.

My dream now is to take what worked at one dining table and bring it to children everywhere — a small, joyful library of beautifully illustrated books and calendars that nurture curious, kind, thinking kids - kids at heart included 😊.

Every Putani Puta page is made with the same simple goals: 🧠 spark curiosity 🖍️ unleash creativity 💬 deepen conversations

We're just getting started and have so many dreams.
And I'd love for your family to grow alongside ours.
